News from the Fishing Club

Fishing report
Another great week with good fish on the bite.
Water temperatures are still hovering over 20 degrees with the fish enjoying the late summer.   

Charter boats are still reporting good catches of fish with mostly leatherjackets up to 60 cm with morwong and a few keeper size snapper.
One report of a charter boat fishing Browns Mountain early in the season with small sized blue eye caught.
 
Beaches still have salmon up to 3.5 kg and 1.5 kg tailor taken on ganged pilchards early morning and sunset. 
Hawkesbury River is still fishing well for large bream over 38 cm and school mulloway up to 4 kg.  

Sydney Harbour still has a mix of summer and winter fish for the taking.
North Head has snapper up to 3 kg caught on squid.
Trevally has moved into the Harbour and being caught around Sow and Pigs and the Wedding Cakes.
Large kingfish are being caught in the deeper sections of Sow and Pigs and the bottom of the Wedding Cakes.
Birken Head has large bream around 40 cm caught on plastics.   
Bream, flathead and large whiting up to 43 cm caught on live nippers, bloodworms and plastics around Five Dock and Cabarita.  
Mulloway are in the Cabarita area being caught on plastics.

The date for the Browns Mountain trip will be in August. At the next meeting, names and deposits will be required to confirm your position.
