Throughout the years, Burwood RSL Club has remained loyal to the community, and dedicated to providing assistance to organisations and charities in need. Andrew Anderson, General Manager of Burwood RSL Club says “All our donations are aimed at helping as many local people as possible. We want to give something back to support the community who supports us.”
This year’s major beneficiaries include:
Burwood Community Welfare Services, recipient of a $25,000 donation. “There are a great number of disadvantaged people in the Inner West community. They may come from other cultures, are frail aged, have a physical/mental disability, or are in crisis, Burwood Community Welfare Services staff and our caring volunteers, all endeavour to help find ways to enable them to access quality, caring services. The generous donation of $25,000 from Burwood RSL will be put towards the purpose of addressing and finding such solutions”, says Christine Strachan, CEO.

The Police & Community Youth Club will use its $12,000 to update equipment in their drop-in room and gymnasium ‘This has given the young members of the community an opportunity to participate in a greater range of activities and further work towards our goal of getting young people active in life and preventing and reducing crime by and against young people. Without the provision of these grants many of these activities would not have happened” says Gary Davis, Manager of the Youth Club. |

Inner West Neighbourhood Aid Manager, Kylee Blackwell says “This year we were especially grateful to Burwood RSL for its generous grant of $4000 towards our Beyond Home project. This project assists people who are faced with moving from home in to residential care or other alternative accommodation. As this project has absolutely no government funding for the next 12 months, Burwood RSL Club truly supported us in our hour of need. We can not thank them enough.
